How to crop a PDF
Open the PDF
Drop the PDF onto the page, or click to choose it. It stays on your device.
Choose what to trim
A margin I choose takes a fixed amount off each edge. The white space around the content measures each page and trims to the ink.
Set the size
Type one number for all four edges, or four for top, right, bottom and left — like 10, or 12 8 20 8 — and pick millimetres, inches, points or per cent.
Check the preview
The page appears with everything the crop removes dimmed, and the new page size written beside it. Adjust the numbers until it looks right.
Crop and download
Click Crop PDF and save the trimmed file.
Crop pages without redrawing them
You see it before you commit
The preview draws the crop on the real page, so a margin that eats a page number is obvious before you download anything.
Trims white space for you
Pick the automatic option and each page is measured where the ink actually stops — useful for scans whose margins differ page to page.
Nothing is re-rendered
Cropping moves the page's own boundary. Text stays selectable and sharp, images keep their resolution, and the file does not grow.
Knows which way is up
On a page that has been rotated, the top is the top you can see. Margins are applied to the edges as the page is displayed, not as it is stored.

Leave the page list blank to crop the whole document, or name the pages that need it, like 2, 5-7.
Crops compose
Running the tool twice trims from what is on screen now, so a second pass takes 5 mm off the cropped page rather than reopening the first crop.
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping delete the content it hides?
No. Cropping moves the edge of the page, so the marks outside it stop being displayed or printed — but they are still in the file and a determined reader can recover them. To take content out of a document for good, use the Redact tool in the PDF editor.
How do I crop a scan whose margins are different on every page?
Choose The white space around the content. Every page you selected is measured separately and trimmed to its own content, with a few millimetres left around it so nothing touches the edge.
Can I crop one page and leave the rest alone?
Yes. Type its number in Pages to crop, or several pages and ranges like 2, 5-7. Pages you do not list keep their current size.
Will the cropped pages print at the new size?
Yes. Both of the page boundaries a reader can use are moved together, so viewers, printers and other PDF tools all agree on the smaller page rather than one of them showing the original sheet.
Can I use cropping to add a margin instead?
Not here — cropping only takes space away, and a negative margin is refused rather than quietly growing the page. Making a page bigger is a different job and is not one of the tools yet.
