How to remove pages from a PDF

Every page appears as a thumbnail. Click the ones to delete (Shift-click for a range, or drag across several) and they are struck out. Or type page numbers and ranges, for example 1, 3, 5-8.

Frequently asked questions
How do I delete pages from a PDF?
Open the PDF, click the pages to delete on their thumbnails — or type them, for example 2, 5-7 — and click Remove Pages. You download the same document without those pages.
Are the removed pages really gone from the file?
Yes. Their text and any images or fonts only they used are taken out of the file, not just hidden from the page list, so the new PDF cannot be used to recover them. It is usually smaller too.
How do I type the pages to remove?
List page numbers separated by commas and use a hyphen for a range: 2 removes page 2, 4-6 removes pages 4, 5 and 6, and 1, 3, 10-12 combines both. Pages are counted from 1.
What if I enter a page that doesn't exist?
Numbers past the end of the document are ignored, and the pages that do exist are removed. If none of the numbers match a page, a message tells you how many pages the document has.
Can I choose the pages by looking at them?
Yes. Every page is shown as a thumbnail, and clicking one marks it for removal; the box fills in as you click. Open a page large to read it before you decide. To reorder pages as well, use Organize PDF.
Can I keep the pages I remove?
Run Extract Pages on the same file with the same page list to save those pages as a PDF of their own.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Remove Pages runs entirely in your browser: the file is opened and processed on your own device and is never sent to our server. More in the privacy policy.
