How to edit a PDF
Open the PDF
Click Choose a PDF or drop the file onto the page. It opens in this browser tab; nothing is sent to a server.
Change or add content
Select existing text to edit it in Properties, or double-click to edit it on the page, keeping its font where the document allows. Use the toolbar to add text, images, shapes, highlights, tables, links and redactions.
Arrange the pages
In the page list, drag to reorder, or insert, duplicate and delete pages. Every change can be undone.
Save
Click Download PDF to download the edited copy. Your original file is not changed.

Existing text is replaced in the page itself rather than hidden under a white box, and the editor reuses the document's own font when it can write it back.
Recognize text on scans
On a page that is only an image, English text recognition (OCR) runs in your browser and turns the words into editable text. Proofread the result, especially numbers.
Add objects
Text boxes, images, rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows, highlights, tables with merged cells, and links to web pages or other pages in the file.
True redaction
A redaction box removes the text, image pixels and links under it from the saved file, so the covered content cannot be copied or searched for afterwards.
Pages, too
Reorder, insert, duplicate and delete pages, or give a page a background color, without leaving the editor.
Frequently asked questions
How do I edit text in a PDF?
Select the text and open Properties, or double-click it to edit. You can also change its size, color, weight and alignment. If the document's own font cannot be reused for new characters, the editor uses the closest standard font instead.
How do I edit a scanned PDF?
Open it and choose recognise its text on the page. Recognition runs in your browser, in English, and places editable text over the scan. Check the result before you rely on it. A scan that is already searchable, for example one made with OCR PDF, is editable straight away: an edited line covers the scanned words in the paper's colour and is retyped in the ink's, so patterned backgrounds show the patch.
Can I use it to redact confidential information?
Yes. Draw a box with the Redact tool and save. Everything under the box is removed from the file, not just hidden: text, including invisible OCR text, the covered part of images, links, comments and form fields. Then the box is drawn in its place. The same words elsewhere in the document, bookmarks and the document's properties are not changed, so check those too.
Will the edited PDF have a watermark?
No. The downloaded file contains your document and your changes, and nothing else.
Can I compare two versions of a PDF?
Yes. Compare PDF shows the words removed and added between two files, page by page, and downloads a redline report.
How do I fill in a PDF form?
Use Fill & Sign. It fills the form's own fields and lets you add text, ticks and a signature anywhere on the page.
