Privacy Policy

IwillPDF (https://iwillpdf.com) is a set of free online PDF tools operated by Joel Thomas, an independent developer based in India. Joel Thomas is the data controller for the personal data described on this page.

This policy explains what happens to the files you put through the tools, what else we collect, and how advertising on the site works. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@iwillpdf.com and ask.

Your documents are processed and returned, not stored. We do not keep a copy, we do not read them, and we do not use them to train anything.

Some tools run entirely inside your browser — the file never leaves your device at all. Other tools send the file to our server, which does the work in memory and returns the result in the same response. In both cases the file is not written to any database or storage bucket, and nothing about its contents is retained once the request finishes.

Two consequences worth knowing:

• There is no file history and no way to recover a result later. Download it when it is offered.
• Because we keep nothing, there is nothing for us to hand over, lose in a breach, or be asked to delete.

If a file contains personal data about someone else, you remain responsible for having the right to process it.

We keep the collection deliberately small. In normal use we collect:

• Technical request data. Like any website, our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. These are used to keep the service running, diagnose errors and prevent abuse.
• Anything you choose to send us. If you email us, we have your email address and whatever you write in the message, for as long as it takes to deal with it.

We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, address or payment details anywhere on this site.

We do not knowingly collect special-category data such as health or financial information. If your document happens to contain it, see the section above: we do not read or retain document contents.

IwillPDF is free to use and is paid for by advertising. We show ads supplied by Google AdSense.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

These advertising cookies are set by Google and its partners, not by us. We do not control what they store, and we never pass the contents of your documents, your file names, or your email address to any advertiser or ad network.

Ads are placed around the tools, never inside your file. Nothing about the document you are working on is used to select the ads you see.

Opting out does not remove ads — it means the ads you see are no longer selected using your browsing history.

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. This site involves two kinds:

• Strictly necessary storage. Keeping a tool working while you use it — for example, remembering your options while a file is being processed. Some of this is browser storage rather than cookies, and it stays on your device.
• Advertising cookies. Set by Google AdSense and its partners to measure and select ads, as described in Advertising.

We do not use cookies to build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share your personal data with data brokers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies will not stop the PDF tools from working.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any advertising or non-essential cookie is set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the consent controls on the site.

Where advertising is personalised, our legal basis is your consent. Where we process technical data to keep the service running and secure, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the site.

• Uploaded files and their results: not retained. They exist only for the duration of the request.
• Server logs: kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then discarded.
• Email correspondence: kept while your query is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• Advertising cookies: retained by Google and its partners according to their own policies, not ours.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) — and under the GDPR and UK GDPR if you are in Europe or the UK — you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent you have given.

To exercise any of these, email hello@iwillpdf.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the period the applicable law requires.

In practice there is usually very little to act on, because we hold almost nothing about you. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority if you are not satisfied with our response.

IwillPDF is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not serve personalised advertising to anyone we know to be a child. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Because files are processed in memory and never stored, the usual risk of a document sitting in a breachable archive does not arise here.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. For genuinely sensitive documents, prefer the tools that state they run entirely in your browser.

We rely on a hosting provider to serve the site and run the processing described above. Advertising is supplied by the vendors named in this policy. We do not sell personal data.

Ads and other links may take you to sites we do not control. This policy does not apply once you leave — read theirs.

We update this page whenever what we collect or how we use it changes, and the date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be signposted on the site rather than made quietly.
